Please ignore the post above. Sorry.

No problem Andre, you are right in your post and right to remind us all.

A weaknes with submitting a Technical Report is that we can’t add an attachment / screenshot. A picture tells a thousand words so we then have to laboriously describe an Issue, not easy at times if it is an obscure Issue.

Above puts me off unless I have the time and in the right mood … but still we must submit Technical Reports else v13 will be available with all the same Issues as v12.

Having an Issue described in a Topic on a PRC Forum helps as we can then refer PRT (in the submitted Technical Report) to the respective post about the Issue.

Anybody get attached lately … cannot Quit and Save (only Quit NO Save)?

I’ve had above / attached, maybe 4 or 5 times in the last few weeks and I tried shutting everything down (browser, YouTube etc) and even reducing the number of PRT Screens open (AutoTrading Screen and any optimisers etc etc) then tried 4 or 5 times to Quit and Save but each time I got attached error message.

Above Issue is on Demo Account.

No not that problem but as of the past few sessions been hitting the ‘memory’ wall again, specifically last night and just now again into DAX close and others.

    Last update: 5 March 2024

    Version : v12.0.20240131030009

    #229496

Specifically now back to it’s almost unusable ‘early days state’ and this is with 12GB allocated.

Whatever’s being tweaked underneath is upsetting the applecart … 🙁

My Platform is ‘PRT Complete‘ and attached is my version number, also 5 March, but v12.0 – 17.0.7 … so what Platform are you using?

Oh they updated it? I’m logging on via IG so maybe it’s not released to IG yet.

    Same Gra

On IG as well @Andre in aus ….. when I was desperately seeking stability a shutdown of PRT and reload would sometimes land me on a ‘better’ rev. but no givens there either haha

    #229503

Just clarifying here (I hope), it’s not a shutdown – restart of PRT will land you on a better/different rev. always (because this has only happened 3 times since on v12 for me).  It’s been perhaps and coincides with, changes that IG have made, that they push to the client, that has effected these changes and we’ve seen a rev. increment etc that sometimes will improve things, has happened, or upset the applecart.

The outlier to this is a shutdown – restart of PRT that wipes the slate and can eliminate gremlins at the time.

It’s been okay here in my test n tune since going to 12GB but the past few sessions have been difficult and mem. has maxed out at times.

It would be good to see in a list what was actually updated so we know. I see mines was updated also. I can’t find that information anywhere.

Something to bear in mind are game updates aka Fortnite, COD etc. and how they might knockon.

There have been quite a few sub-cable cuts as well which can see variation but this for the most part is an on-off reroute/reconverge, whereas game updates (Fridays was 26GB) can feel like a DDOS in how the routes can flap etc, not to mention the local loads.

We have on occasion had the pleasure of route flap further upstream from AUS and anyone who lives on an ‘almost’ net neutral environment, where line rates are encouraged over shaped services, might tell you ‘yeah the other night was a dog’ etc

What you could see is your service grind to a halt almost making old school VoIP of 16kbit look sexy, to various upstream internet exchanges (IX) hemorrhaging and dropping packets under load, all the while killing your TCP sessions (mass rst) and making for a ‘poor-user-experience’ all around.

I’m not sure how the system testers ‘see or feel’ this but anything that hurts packet transmission and comes through in a wave across continents is a tricky thing to deal with unless your adjacent or on-net (peering/direct links etc) and are uncontended (with little network congestion).

IF your transmission path takes you via a similar IXs, in/egress it’s food for thought. We see some of it in AUS, simply because we were at one point like a ‘router on a stick’ and when subcables get hit now (anchors or else) we revert to something near about to where we once were – router on a stick / one-armed.

So as you can see there’s a bit to contend with at times …. pun intended ……. 🙂

Anybody know what the numbers mean against  P/L on attached, e.g. 0.2 (7) and 2.91 (6)??

Maybe my coffee hasn’t worked through yet and you will know straight off? 🙂

    #230005

My hint would be to look in settings, because I don’t have that. And indeed, there it is (see below).
The P/L was obvious in the first place. The numbers are not for you ?

    #230008

The numbers are not for you ?

I’m the only person looking at the numbers so who are the numbers for then?? 😀

I know I can disable P/L as it was me who enabled, but seems daft if the numbers are meaningless?

The numbers may be meaningful in some way but seems nobody knows??

    #230038

It’s also particularly annoying… I click somewhere, within the code or wherever, and suddenly, completely sporadically, some window (report, chart, whatever) comes to the foreground. I have a feeling this is getting worse rather than better.
