The Alert function has decided to work on the ‘next bar’ even though I have selected ‘current bar’.
Alert sound always used to sound as soon as price crossed the alert line … now there is no sound until the next bar opens (after price crossed the alert line).

Always ? … I recall it always has been late and sounds at the next bar. Well, that is from what I have read in here as complaints often; I don’t use alarms.
And about selecting (current bar or “later” hence next bar) … why would anyone ever select At Next Bar ?
04/17/2024 at 7:46 AM #23159404/17/2024 at 7:49 AM #231595Assumed I am correct and that this always has been so : consider the impossibility of it (working in-bar) because it will be a local event (on your PC) and not on the server. Also it won’t work like an indicator (which also operates locally and works at the tick level).
This is by guestimate of how it works !04/17/2024 at 9:03 AM #231606No the Alert function used to work on current bar.
I use Alerts loads for when manual trading and doing something else within hearing distance of the PC … either for an Alert that price has dropped / risen to a fib retrace point or reached a level where I am in or out etc.

There is no option to select ‘Next bar’ for Alerts.
There are options for … current bar, previous bar or Periods ago04/17/2024 at 9:25 AM #23161004/17/2024 at 9:40 AM #23161104/17/2024 at 7:11 PM #231631I was wrong when I said Alerts were working fine earlier today … unless Alerts just go wrong in the evening.
My Chart is on 1 hour TF and price crossed the Alert level during the ’18:00 bar’ and the little alarm bell icon showed under the ’18:00 bar’.
However, the Alarm sound only sounded as soon as the ’19:00 bar’ appeared!
So the Alert function is rendered useless by the above behaviour.
04/17/2024 at 7:32 PM #231632Well Weird!
I just set up another Alert up and when price crossed over the Alert line … the alarm icon appeared under the 19:00 bar and the Alert alarm immediately sounded … just like Alerts are supposed to work!
Too late for more coffee else I will never sleep!
04/20/2024 at 12:18 PM #231733Submarine cables SEA-ME-WE 5 and AAE-1 are offline as a heads up to Australian users of PRT,
so if you’re having ‘v/slow-to-no-access’ it could be related. If you’re heading out via Sydney to NA first and not Perth then onto EU via SG for example – you could have dodged a bullet – happy days.
05/07/2024 at 11:13 PM #232446Just a follow up on cable outages and v12, although more generally an issue of transmission paths. Word has it that repairs on some cuts, those specifically w/in Red Sea, will take longer to resolve and could be years end, maybe, depending on OHS issues w/in the region.
SEA-ME-WE-5 has had a ship dispatched and approvals to go ahead with repairs – earliest ETA last week of MAY.
For those in APAC, many providers have re-routed where possible by now and connectivity should not be at a place where the platform’s ‘unusable’. Smaller ISP and challenging upstream relationships with smaller capacity likely to be affected the most.
In RTT terms, we’re down from +400ms to ~280ms with packet loss still present but AUS providers generally shuffle loads based on Business Hours and regions affected – apparently it can be automagical till something breaks and as always requires peer review-intervention as needed.
Apologies for the noise on thread.
05/23/2024 at 5:30 PM #232967Anybody else getting this … click on the + sign in the Optimser Results Table and – instead of ALL the results for that particular run opening up to view – all I’m left with is the top result and no + or red cross … see attached??
05/23/2024 at 5:57 PM #232972I can’t tell what you are used to, but to me this looks perfectly normal ?
I’d need to add that you had clicked the 2nd line here and not the first, which may be what you seem to tell. But not because the second line is newer (and sorting is on Gain).Of course you could be telling that you clicked on that top line after all (never mind it is older) and that the whole contents disappeared instead of the “top line”. But we can not see that.
PS: BTW, you should right-click those plusses anyway (won’t load the result in the Detailed Report). But for the result in the Optimizer Window this does not matter, unless this was changed “yesterday”. But you could try whether it makes a difference today.
