Hi,
I have lots of issues with alerts not being triggered.
here is one example where it was triggered. I’m also attaching the details of each alert. for the first alert it was set to be triggered every time / real time / when price over 132.2. stock is Preformed line products.
and a second one where nothing happened. details are : to be triggered every time / real time / when price crosses 26.75. Stock is XIOR.
I couldn’t find any pattern, but I getting only a small part of the alerts I should be getting
I don’t have real time data, only end of day.
any suggestions welcome 🙂

If, in the alert settings, you use “all crossings” in combination with a verification validity “real-time” and you use “End of Day Data” then that will not work…
With “End of Day” data, it’s better to use “at closing price current bar” than “real-time”…
With “End of Day” data you should also not use “all crossings” because these “crossings” can be over at the end of the day and no alert is triggered…
(In your case, always use “>= or <=” instead of “crossings”)

you use “all crossings” in combination with a verification validity “real-time” and you use “End of Day Data” then that will not work…
why do you say that it won’t work ? because it works in some cases. that’s the strange thing
With “End of Day” data, it’s better to use “at closing price current bar” than “real-time”…
all right, that, I’ll change
With “End of Day” data you should also not use “all crossings” because these “crossings” can be over at the end of the day and no alert is triggered… (In your case, always use “>= or <=” instead of “crossings”)
yeah but if I want to be alerted whether the candle goes over or under the SMA50 ? Are you implying that I should create 2 alerts ?
Even if my alert is configured with “>=” instead of “all crossings”, at the end of the day, the crossing could be over and thus not trigger the alert. So I don’t see what difference it would make to have 2 alerts (1 with > and 1 with <) instead of 1 with all crossings. I know that in both cases the alert will only be triggered if the candle opens below SMA50 and closes above or the other way around.02/25/2024 at 3:42 PM #228722Hi benkunz,
It does indeed work in some cases, but when you use the “Real-Time” option, it doesn’t work when the crossing has occurred during the day.
Just use the option “at closing price current bar” (instead of “real-time”) and all alerts should go off… (also at a crossing)

When you use “current bar”, do you know if this setting only looks at the “current bar” or the “current bar” in combination with the “previous bar”?
If it only looks at the “current bar” then it is better to use “>= or <=”…
If it only looks at the “current bar” (which I think), then there is no crossing with the SMA50 when the price opens above the SMA50…
