As everyone knows PRT needs to clear is Java cache when it’s full.
Actually when time it’s to clear , one pop-up come out and all is frozen. We have choice betweene only 2 options Save or Not save. Must restart after
Even I choosed to save, most of the time I loosed a part of my work. Shoult be very kind if PRT would inform us before and give us time to close our optimisation and save our job as well.
04/01/2018 at 8:30 AM #6689904/01/2018 at 5:25 PM #66909Would be great if PRT would save all environment by defaut and constantly.
I cannot count the number of times when I have lost my work …
1/ because session time run out of 12 hours, and for a strange reason the choice of developers is to NOT save by default.
2/ because PRT hangs and no way to save
3/ because saving during an open session actually saves nothing, except if you quit the environment and save at that moment.

I absolutely agree with you, that the saving procedure within PRT could be clearer, I had the same problem, losing coding when accidentely PRT shuts down. But constantly saving is too much I think.
I think PRT has a solution, a bit hidden, by manually pressing CRTL S, or clicking with your mouse at the left top “File –> Save”; you might expect a graph is saved, but I think everything is saved. It is worth giving it a try !!
Kind regards, Jan
04/02/2018 at 12:09 PM #66921As far as it works on my environment (Java on Mac OS X), pressing Command-S actually saves nothing. Only [quitting the PRT app] + [pressing Yes button to save when requested] makes saving real… very annoying, you need to quit and restart PRT so many times to not lose your work!!

I usually keep 4-5 screeners open at all time. I’d like to reduce this, maybe even to just ONE, but I need to tell results from, say, engulfing pattern from idnr4 or boomer. I already use position numbers to refer to TF, the leftmost position refers to the Daily TF, the next one rightwards refers to 4-hour TF and so on. For each TF I also tell LONG patterns from SHORT ones using 1 for the first and 2 for the latter.
But telling, immediately, visually, a pattern from another one would imply using, say, a letter so that I know that A refers to Engulfing, B to Boomer, C to Idnr4,….
Now a may be returned this value 199 for a Bullish Engulfing on a Daily TF, while 299 if it’s Bearish, or 919 for a Boomer on the 4-hoiur TF, but I can’t make just one bigger screener and get rid of the many that clutter my screen, I wish I could be returned A199 for a Bullish Engulfing on the Daily TF, or maybe B199 if it’s a Boomer.
So far PRT does not support strings.
Suggestion for string support has already been posted and I expect PRT to strongly implement this feature.
But I suggest a further step to tell a type of scan from another within the same Screener code by
– use of a BACKGROUND COLOUR
so any screener scan line would be immediately, visually identified
1SCREENER[Result] (Result AS "xyz") backgroundcolor(r,g,b,a)might use RED to identify an Engulfing pattern, GREEN for a BOOMER, ….
04/05/2018 at 11:05 AM #6723204/05/2018 at 12:29 PM #67273@George65, you can modify it in two different ways:
- (1) by selecting the spanner in the tool menu, and then being in spanner mode you can click on the fibo drawing and it opens a window where you can change values (useful with keyboard if you want accurate values),
- or (2) you can also modify it by selecting the tool icon for moving graphic objects (see icon 2 in attachment) and clicking and holding one of the 2 dots at the articulation of the “reverse Z” of the fibo drawing and drag and release wherever you want to obtain a different siza and or location
04/05/2018 at 12:39 PM #67276Thanks Noobywan, the first solution is not comfortable to type values…
The second, yes you can drag and drop it to a different swing, but I can not adjust it to the size of the new swing. It keeps its original size. Or I’m doing something wrong…
04/05/2018 at 1:21 PM #67307If you catch it anywhere it would move the whole thing with the same size, but if you catch it like I described above, specifically on one of the 2 surrounded black dots in the 2nd attachment (your mouse cursor is transformed into a big “+” shape to confirm you’re about to click just one dot rather than the whole thing), then remaining clicked you can move the one dot wherever you want, therefore changing size, and date, and if needed repeat on the other black dot

04/10/2018 at 2:30 AM #67786It would be very useful to be able to save the PRT configuration in a windows file in order to be able to export this configuration from one account to another (example: demo account to real account) and then it would allow to archive our various setups in manual trading.
04/10/2018 at 8:43 AM #67849At present when I want to move a line, no matter where my cursor picks it, it moves as a parallel object, keeping always the same distance (as from part 1 of the screenshot) from the beginning through the end of it.
I’d like to pick a line at one end and let the other one act as a pivot to let me move just one side to a new location and, hopefully, being able to extend or shrink it (as from part 2 of the screenshot).
04/10/2018 at 8:57 AM #67861Hello Roberto, when you say “no matter where my cursor picks it”, do you mean you don’t have 2 thick black dots appearing at both ends of your segment which can be picked individually (when cursor used as menu-icon (2) described in answer above to George’s question about moving fib)? Or do you mean you see those dots but picking just one of them doesn’t work?
Moving just one end of the segment while the other end remains fixed should work, your mouse cursor is transformed into a big “+” shape when close enough to one of the black dot at end of segment, then click hold move and release

04/10/2018 at 10:21 AM #67882Sorry Noobywan, but I don’t have those two thick black dots, is there any option I may have (un)thicked accidentally to hide them?
