Reiner,
As creater of Pathfinder. Do you have the time to take a moment to read Despair’s postings from yesterday and today and please reply with a short comment?
You do not have to be in an ongoing discussion. Just briefly your vision, your idea. Are on the right track or are we all getting nuts here.
Your ideas and comments are appreciated. Not just by me but also with a lot of silent readers.
Thanks.
Patrick
09/22/2017 at 5:20 PM #46992Hi Patrick,
I had the same opinion as Despair at the beginning if you remember. especially about the number of trades where I feared it has no statistical significance.
That is the reason why I traded live quite late and before only in Demo but as I have seen the Demo results, I started Live with a small amount.
For now I am really happy with the results despite my doubts at the beginning even though we curve fit almost every trade 😛I would like to do Walk Forward testing but it would not make sense IMO as we change the paramters every two weeks.
Makes only sense for the Palladium Full year algo I have seen here with the same parameters for the entire year.I am only talking about the Pathfinder Swing when we optimize every two weeks, dont get me wrong.
I am only a novice trader and it is just my opinion. Still very greatful for Reiners contribution here as I can ready the code and would be able to change a bit here and there but I would have never come up with this great idea.Best regards
09/23/2017 at 5:59 AM #47028I have chosen algos with better result the last years when picking which to use. When we do these algos with all months included the last years are of course more important than earlier years.
Otherwise I’m not sure what to say since we will never have algos foreseeing the future. These ones only say “this is how this algo would perform in the past”, which is arguably the best way for any trader to guess the future. For “normal” traders there are many other signals to be aware of though, but this is a good way to trade if you like me don’t want to spend to much time on it, and also if you don’t have the nerve to look at curves, signals, when to exit etc causing alot of stress.

We could have a dropbox that the ones interested can upload all-year swings like the DAX one we did before. It’s alot of work required, could be a little side project 🙂
09/24/2017 at 8:46 AM #47105Hi Oscar,
Sorry for my late feedback! I’ve not forgotten your request.
I’ll create a new template for Pathfinder swing V3 that is better suitable for yearly usage. I’ll include your request regarding the maxProfit variable.
Best, Reiner

Sorry for my late answer!
when I started with the Pathfinder projects the OOS feature wasn’t available in PRT and I don’t use it for this robots. I find OOS very useful for all intraday time frames and use it only for my scalping robots.
Best, Reiner
09/24/2017 at 9:19 AM #4710909/24/2017 at 9:30 AM #47110Hello,
thanks for this awesome job. (reiner, wp01, o-jay8, ozz87, despair, dajvop, … and other)
Could someone, when setting pathfinder (for a new month or with the future new version “V3”) film its screen? as this might be the best way to learn and also be able to help on this strategy by parametrating pathfinder for other comodities.
sorry for my poor English…..
09/24/2017 at 9:35 AM #47111hello,
when you talk about your scalping robot, it’s this robot?
it run good on your live account?
thanks for your return.
