if you are not sure about correct position opening have a look on your program in backtest mode.
just view signalline and the lows and highs (day, week, month) by adding the command “graph” ad end of program. Then you can check if signalline has crossed one of the triggers. And don`t forget the filter.

02/22/2017 at 2:55 PM #26057Dear all,
Yesterday I reported a successful trade at 9.00 AM (Brussels time, GMT +1) and I had NO trades at 17.00 like most of you people had. The strangest thing of all is, if I run the Pathfinder v6.1 in backtest…. It does no trade at 9:00, but trades at 17:00 like you did.
So there is a clear difference between this backtest and reality, at least in my case. Please see attachment: capture.jpg shows the transactions IG did, capture2 the backtest (blue arrow 17:00) and reality (green arrow 9:00)
Is this an IG issue ?? It shouldn’t happen that different things happen using the same code.
Greetings, Glen
02/22/2017 at 3:57 PM #26063Variable / Widening of spreads by IG on Live compared to Fixed spreads on Backtest may account for some of the difference.
I’ve just had a Trailing Stop taken out on a manual trade and it left me thinking wtf happened there! I traced it back and it can only be accounted for by a ‘flash / instantaneous widening of the spread to take out the stop’.
The above ‘spread widening’ could also cause a Trade to execute on Live whereas it may not on Backtest with whatever value of ‘fixed spread’ the user has entered in the backtest engine.
Just a few thoughts.
