No worries Arnaud, it’s just a reminder to let you know cause I can’t read all topics and sometimes advertising links are springing up like mushrooms 🙂 Believe me I appreciate a lot all the works and ideas you put so far on forums! Unfortunately I do not have enough time to dig into them until now… 🙁
12/03/2017 at 8:24 PM #54605Hi Degardin!
Thanks for your effort! Is it possible to make some formatcode for any tree based note program like apple notes or OneNote. Or do you know any other program to organise your codes, notes and Pictures/printscreens? Or is this even possible in notepad+++?
Best Regards
Henrik

12/04/2017 at 9:07 PM #54721Hi Degardin!
Yes i know. I want to save/modifi all my work with different strategies/modules on one place so i can go back and find it later. The best one ive found until now is OneNote. With OneNote i can save code, notes, excelfiles, printscrens of optimasations etc on one place.
With notepad its just one file with code. It would be so awesome if code could be formated in OneNote or some other simular program.
Any ideas?
Regards
Henrik

It is a God-send (as ProRealTime simply refuses to make anything decent out of their editor).Unless your program codes are < 100 lines or if you have one program only, the time gained approaches infinity. With the Search function alone you can gain HOURS per day.
So indeed, assuming a full time PRT development job, it will save several hours each day. And I am serious … (but please notice that my programs hover around 5000 lines of code – including comment).I set it up a couple of years ago by means of this very thread – which is quite a lot of work despite this thread (notice that the command-set has grown as well). It will take you several days and after that a few weeks of throughput for fine tuning.
The main part of things to know is the workflow of getting the text in the PRT editor (which remains a requirement), which is a matter of a smart macro in NPP, activate the always present PRT editor and use Ctrl-v in there. This really is a breeze.
I could add that the PRT editor is ultimate slow to work with for its used CPU cycles, and that especially the nice people over in Australia will benefit hugely from the now lack of latency/lag within the NPP environment.
And I did not tell yet about the literally 100s of times I did NOT lose my changes because of PRT losing them one way or the other.I have thought about it many times, but I see no for me feasible means of presenting a set of “files” or directories, suitable for the Notepad++/PRT combination, which would be usable for n00bs without running stuck in each corner of their PC or Mac. In addition, I would be fighting myself already if I’d need two NPP environments. So NPP could be one of the greatest pieces of software around, but it is not really made for more than one “integration” (if you already use it, then what). Or maybe it is, but then you will soon lose oversight of which is where or should be where. And then it’s at the wrong place soon (but works), and you will be fighting yourself a year later because you don’t know where to be to apply changes.
Inv, if this is one of my riddler-hat posts, then so be it. Just don’t read them. Ok, too late for this one. 😜
PS: The first thing to do is install Notepad++ by heading over to their website and download the latest version. LOL.

06/27/2024 at 6:02 AM #234409All good Peter, you’ve been kind to me today … thanks for taking the time to post and keeping it w/in my ability to comprehend … !
Yes, even in my newbie status I’ve managed to back hole code thru the built-in editor – more than once. It was problem when or can be a problem, when global routes re-converge affecting the paths we take and relates more so to global loads given the state of cable cuts (one due to come back online (SMW5) over the coming days unless pushed (again)). Believe it or not it’s the game updates-patches that cause the most havoc …. who’d think having so much fun would hurt so much, ha …
BTW, looks very clean.

I save / export all my .itf’s to my PC and then import when I need them … see attached for the buttons ringed in yellow.
